This year we decided to support the idea of helping those who need it the most. In 2024, we focused on the story of little Alex and his family.<\/strong> We call the project “Paradise Helps” and we believe that together we can do a great thing.<\/p>\n\n

Alexka’s story<\/h4>\n\n

Alexko and his brother were born two months premature. They spent the first days of their lives in hospital incubators. <\/strong>Today, the boys are four years old, and although they decided to fight before they were born, their journey has not been easy.<\/p>\n\n

While still in their mother’s belly, the boys had to undergo surgery for TTTS (Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome). This problem with the placenta meant that one of the twins had more amniotic fluid and nutrition than the other, necessitating surgical separation of the feeding vessels. The operation in Prague was successful, but Alex was diagnosed with microcephaly<\/strong> when his head growth lagged behind.<\/p>\n\n

Warrior Alexko<\/h4>\n\n

After birth, the boys went through many problems – anemia of prematurity, reflux and numerous hospitalizations. An MRI scan revealed that Alexko suffers from lisencephaly, a brain disorder that causes the brain to look “smooth.” This diagnosis brings with it a host of problems, including slowed psychomotor development, difficulty eating, high sensitivity to touch, muscle spasticity, shortened tendons and muscles, and other complications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Despite these challenges, Alexko is a great fighter. Every day he tries to overcome obstacles together with his little brother. The most important things for him are exercises, rehabilitation, supportive therapies and special aids to help him progress.<\/p>\n\n

The family has been through many rehabilitation stays, which are very expensive, either in Slovakia or abroad. We hope that with our help Alex’s condition will improve and that we will enable him to develop in the best possible way.<\/p>\n\n
